Between desert and sea  close to the cabo degata national park and the desert of tabernas, and is available for holidays, business holidays or meetings.

Cortijo El Saltador is a large traditional farmhouse ideal for holidays or groups to use as a centre for activities. It is part of an old train line used by the mines, which was decommissioned in 1943, and connected the nearby village of Lucainena de las Torres with the part of Aguaamarga.

El Saltador (the jumper) with 55 hectares of land lies set in the foothills of the Sierra Alhamilla, a magical desert landscape.

 
Accommodation

Using the existing walls, the house got built up between 2001 and 2003 with the help and the enthusiasm of workers and volunteers from all over the world.

Guest Rooms

The guestrooms surround a light open courtyard, and at the main house there is a seminar room, a library, a spacious kitchen, an open outside eating space and several communal rooms to be used at your leisure.

There is a second seminar room which will is independent from the house.

The house uses its own well water and is supplied by a big solar system. It is a place of silence, reflection and relaxation in a beautiful setting close to the beautiful countryside.

In winter 2007/2008 a covered parking, and the B.B.Q area will be finished.

Conferences:-  The house is a perfect place for concentrated work in complete silence, a relaxed atmosphere with superb food.

We provide:- Flipchart,  Overhead projector, and a Slide projector.

Full board includes:- Breakfast, Soft drinks, tea and coffee during work, Light lunch, Afternoon tea break, and a 3 course menu in the evening. 

Information

The house will be open all year due to the mild climate (Almeria gets 324 sunny days a year) and the under floor heating. In winter temperatures easily reach 25°C during the daytime but because of the desert climate it does so down to below 0°C at night

Places to visit

Whether enjoying the silence and wide landscape of El Saltador, the wild beauty of the Tabernas desert, the caves of Cabo de Gata, Almeria offers many possibilities. You can also visit Granada or ski and snowboard in the Sierra Nevada. Lovers of nature and sport will find a satisfying range of choices. The natural park of Cabo da Gata can be reached by car in 35 minutes (Aguaamarga) or 1 hour (Las Negras/ San José)

Here you can Kayak, dive, swim or just relax on the beach. Climbers find a big variety of rock faces in the summer (in the shade) as well as in the winter sun. Climbing in this area is an amazing experience. Walks can also be found on the coast, in the desert of Tabernas or in the Alpujarras of Almeria and Granada. A special adventure could be a 3 day trip to Fez with the ferry leaving from Almeria capital.

Easy jet:- Daily flights to Almeria from London. Also flights to Alicante, Murcia and Malaga.

Ryanair:-  Flights to Almeria, Granada, Murcia and Malaga.

Several airports are available nearby:-  Almeria - 40 minutes. Granada 1.5 hours. Murcia - 2 hours. Alicante - 2.5 hours. Malaga - 3 hours.
